An attacker hit a man with a vinegar bottle and stole his phone Monday night near Stanford’s Redwood City campus, the San Mateo County sheriff’s office said.
The assault was reported at 10:51 p.m. in the 800 block of Barron Avenue, near a mobile home park in an unincorporated area of Redwood City.
The victim was sitting in a car when the attacker threw the bottle through the open window. It hit the victim in the face and shattered.
The attacker then grabbed the man’s mobile phone and fled.
The victim was treated for facial cuts, at the scene and then at a hospital.
