Robert “Bob” W. Skidmore Jr., 82, of Weirton, WV, passed away Sunday June 19, 2022 at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, OH.

He was born July 25, 1939 in Weirton, son of the late Robert W. Skidmore, Sr. and Orabelle Jackson Skidmore. Bob is also preceded in death by his brother, Carl Skidmore.

Bob retired from Weirton Steel Corporation as a bundler in the Tin Mill, where he was proud to remember his badge number until the day he died. Both while working and after his retirement, Bob spent 40 years running a craft business alongside his wife Joyce. Those 40 years were spent traveling the eastern part of the United States attending numerous craft shows and making wonderful friends.

Bob and Joyce spent every holiday season selling crafts at their large booths located in the middle of the Fort Steuben and Beaver Valley Malls.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Poland Skidmore; sons, Curt Skidmore (Leslie) of Greeley, CO and Jason Skidmore (Stacy) of Morgantown, WV; 5 grandchildren, Brett Skidmore (Melissa) of Greeley, CO, Aubrey Skidmore of Morgantown, WV, Mattie Koch of Greeley, CO, Miranda Koch of Greeley, CO and Jake Reese of Greeley, CO; great granddaughter, Isabella Skidmore of Greeley, CO; brother, Dana Skidmore (Margie) of Weirton; and sister, Patty Brady (Ron) of Weirton.

Per Bob’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Weirton, WV.

The family wishes to wholeheartedly thank the caring people of Valley Hospice in their care for Bob.
